a sense of place

Every garden begins with its place

I start every project by listening to the site: the soil, the light, the view, the way the wind moves through it. Good garden design does not impose a style. It finds the garden that already wants to exist.

"She understood what we wanted before we could articulate it ourselves. The garden feels completely natural, as though it grew here."

Common questions

How much does a garden design cost?

Every garden is different, so we price each project individually after a first visit. As a guide, a one-off consultation starts from a few hundred pounds, a full design for a typical private garden usually falls between £2,500 and £7,500, and design-and-build projects are quoted against the agreed scope.

How long does a project take from first call to finished garden?

The design stage generally takes six to twelve weeks depending on complexity. If we are also building the garden, construction and planting typically add two to four months, scheduled around the right season for planting.

Will the garden be a lot of work to maintain?

We design for the level of upkeep you actually want. Naturalistic, well-matched planting looks after itself far more than conventional bedding, and we provide a written aftercare plan so you know what to do and when.
